USCF Quick-Rated Online U1200 Tournament

Only platers rated Under 1200 or Unrated

When: Sunday, May 31, 2020; 2:00pm - 4:30pm
Where:  (Lichess, free chess server)

These games will be played at G/20;+3 (20min per side; 3 seconds added after each move). The USCF defines Quick-Rated games between G/10;+1 up to G/29;d/0. Players must have a USCF membership and a rating below 1200.

The USCF has separate online ratings for such events and keeps them separate from the traditional OTB (over the board) ratings. Up until now, these USCF rated online tournaments were only offered via and ICC (Internet Chess Club)... and they did not offer different rating tiers!

This tournament will be hosted on Lichess. Lichess offers "arena" tournament formats where you get paired up randomly with available players in the tournament. There will be a 2 1/2 hour limit to the tournament, so you play as many games as you can in 2 1/2 hours. After all the games are played in the arena tournament, they will be submitted to the USCF.

If interested, you will need a Lichess account which you can get at . Please sign up and get one for free. It is similar to, but everything is free for everyone.

To sign up for this tournament, you need to register here:

When registering, you will need to enter your Lichess account information, so be sure to get that first if you do not already have an account. On the Google form, there is an option if you want me to purchase/update your USCF membership for you and how you can pay me for the purchase/renewal.

A $3 donation will be requested to help with affiliate dues/rating fees (unless you are having me purchase/renew your membership which includes a $3 commission for my club).

No prizes or awards.

When you sign up, I will verify your USCF membership and send you a link and password to the tournament arena.
